what washing tablets or wash powder is phosphonate free?
I have heard it does not clog the machine up so much to use phos free products.
If you are in the USA, all laundry detergents made in the USA are phosphate free. Phosphates were banned from use in laundry detergents some time ago, back in the 1970s. They are still in dishwasher detergents but there is a push to have them banned from dishwasher detergents by the year 2010.
If you are concerned about phosphates, and you live in another country, purchase one of the all natural type detergents such as ecover, 7th generation, soap nuts, etc.

If you go to the site, you can read up on it. It only takes 1 Tablespoon of detergent to get your entire wash clean. It doesn’t leave behind any traces of soap and rinses completely clean. I have been very satisfied with it.
