Medical Instruments
Using a USB printer with the instruments (devices) that only have a parallel port?
We exsisting medical testing devices with only a parallel port connection for the printer output. Recently it has started to be difficult to find printers with parallel ports, as the Most now have USB ports. Is there a simple solution to convert? Anyone bought the cables I've found moving from a parallel port to USB, but no printer USB to a parallel port.
I bought a converter (which comes with the cable) Fry. They had a good selection of converters for around $ 20. That one was for a printer with a parallel port, but also had to reverse converters. You may have to buy another cable, but worth the cost. Did you talk with the sales people at the store. When I was buying a converter that are useful (the same is not true in other subjects). Also, contact the manufacturer of medical testing devices? Sometimes they have suggestions (except the purchase of new equipment). Good luck!
